At Morepixel we are often asked to design and launch websites, new logos, trade fair concepts and more for less than such solutions costs us to develop them for our clients.
Some of the time the core reason why a clients budget cannot be met is because of the fact that the project scope "what needs to be included" is inflated (simply put over the top).
Often the nice to have features when reviewed against the goals your setting out to achieve are likely to add little or no value to achieving this goal.
This is why our team insist on following some simple steps prior to making a fee proposal and ultimately taking on a new client project.
Step 1 - We always seek as detailed a client project brief as possible
Step 2 - Internally we will discuss the project scope and identify any "nice to have" features so we can share our opinion with our client directly
Step 3 - We try to provide in these cases two fee proposals; proposal 1 includes all the bells and whistles where as proposal 2 reflects through a reduced cost, upfront savings as well as reasons supporting our opinions.
Next time your seeking a new media concept, think seriously about every element you have included, and try to remove some of those "nice to have things".
